Microplastic – a threat to human health and the environment

Microplastics are those super tiny beads (typically around 1 millimeter), that can be found in body and facial scrubs, as well as other personal care products. Microplastics are used in cosmetics and body care products to exfoliate, sanitize, or increase cleaning power. They can be found in lotions, sanitizers, toothpastes, and body scrubs, as well as other products. A single tube of facial scrub can contain upwards of 300,000 microbeads. Increased evidence shows now that the use of micro plastic in cosmetics can have harmful effects on the human health, pollute wildlife, the environment and our food chain.
Labiocos is very proud to say that since our foundation more that 20 years ago we have never used any microplastics in our cosmetics. In effect we do not use any synthetic ingredients in our products as Labiocos is committed to 100% natural and organic cosmetics for a healthier life and environment.
